Molly and I couldn't resist some of the after Thanksgiving sales, we we broke down and went High Def. We had plenty of spare room, so we went with the Sony Grand WEGA 55", 1080 pixel, Rear-Projection, HDTV.So far we're really happy with it. We still don't have any sort of cable television, and we do not intend on getting it. There are actually quite a few broadcast HD channels that we get - and that's not even including all the religious and Spanish channels!
In other news, the Space Shuttle Discovery (mission STS 116/ISS 12A.1) launched last night. It was quite an impressive night launch. Molly will be working the mission, and if I come across any snapshots of her on console, I'll post them.

Sweet! Welcome to the world of HD! I will say however buying an HD TV and not having cable is like buying a pool and not filling it with water!!
I guess if you can get the channels over the air it wouldn't be that bad. Unfortunately for us the only channels that come in clear with an antenna are the Spanish channels.
Josh! Don't encourage him. He's a very lucky man to have gotten empty pool!
I'm with Josh on this one. You spent the money on the kick ass TV you might as well spend a few bucks per month and get 300 digital channels and a lot more HD channels. I'm ridiculously envious of your new TV, you picked out a good one.
